Tiana Name: Tian'alyr'sil
Meaning: Highest caste, royalty (See the Silara page for an explanation of Silaran names)
Occupation: Mercenary
Hobbies: Saving the world
Skills: Swordfighting

When Tiana meets up with Umikirei, she claims to be a mercenary--a swordswoman-for-hire. She does have a sword, and she does usually earn money by working as a bodyguard or whatever else you'd need someone with a sword for, but she has other plans for her life as well.

Tiana is the daughter of the current High Priestess of Silar, the Fire-Star Goddess. That makes her the An'ahy'dara of the Goddess, or the next High Priestess. The High Priestess of Silar is also the ruler of the country Silara, so she has as much power as a king or queen. Tiana has been trained as a priestess, so she can use a little magic--mostly healing--that calls on Silar's powers. She left home because she didn't really want to dedicate her life to a goddess she didn't particularly care about, and her mother really got on her nerves sometimes. Tiana's mother has a tendency to act like she knows everything. Of course, she is kind of psychically connected to Silar, so she knows a lot about what's going to happen in the future, but it really gets on Tiana's nerves.

Tiana's sword, Makithri, was given to Tiana by her mother. Later, Tiana found out that Makithri is really the spirit of one of her ancestors, one of the first High Priestesses of Silar. Makithri has the ability to see the future, and she's managed to talk Tiana into going on sort of a quest to save the world. She also constantly teases Tiana about going home and being a priestess like she's supposed to. Tiana responds by teasing Makithri about being stuck in a sword.
